Studying for the midterm!

On Monday, September 21, the Red group met at PC Dukes. After we all purchased and finished our lunches, we collaboratively designed a tentative schedule that met all the deadlines for the semester's assignments. After that, we designated deadlines regarding the upcoming oral presentation. As a group, it was decided that a tentative outline of each of our sections is due this upcoming sunday. We also prepared for the upcoming exam. For about an hour, we all sat at an outside table, sharing notes and study guides. Before we departed, we of course shared stories regarding our weekends and the funny things that always occur. Hopefully, our collective efforts and group study paid off and earned us each a good grade on our first exam!

Watching Football

On Sunday the Red Group continued our fabulous bonding experiences by gathering to watch the Baltimore Ravens take on San Diego Chargers. It was a great game but the Ravens edged out the Chargers 31-26. Though we were watching the game, conversation was buzzing as we discussed our various weekend activities. We all had many stories to tell that wowed and inspired the other group members. There was not much talk of the upcoming presentation besides making sure that everyone was on track to complete a rough outline by this Friday. We enjoyed brownies prepared by Lindsay's mom which were delicious. All in all the day was very relaxing and enjoyable. Another success for the Red team.

Red Group bonding while playing football

On the beautiful Saturday afternoon of September 19th , the red group assembled to bond a little more while throwing the football around on the quad. While playing, we discussed what football teams we were fans of and decided we should get together a different date to watch a football game on T.V. Although some of the girls in the group did not have the best skills with throwing and catching the football, we overall had fun together! We talked about how our weekends were, and about how all of our first JMU home game experiences were.We spoke a little more about our topic for the informative speech and discussed some interesting information we briefly looked up on our topics. All of the members in the group are excited to start learning more information about our interesting topic!

Red Group's Business Meeting

Today- Monday, September 14th, the Red Group met in front of Carrier Library around 12:20pm for our "group business meeting". Instead of having GCOM class like our usual Monday afternoons, we had a work day, so we all decided to go to the library to get one of our mandatory activities finished.

We began the meeting with the Code of Conduct. We made an attendance policy, and regulated how we would handle a group member if they chose not to show up for meetings, etc. We decided that in making our agenda and having expectations would be a collaborative effort amongst the five of us. We debated about how we will manage any conflicts, uncooperative group members, and anybody not pulling their weight or being overly bossy. None of us seem to think that will happen within our group however, because we all get along so well. :) We began to brainstorm our schedules for the upcoming meetings, and decided when and where we would meet/do our remaining wild card activities.

Occasionally we would get off subject and miscellaneous topics came up during our meeting such as being excited for this weekend's home football game, or about how some of our members are rushing for Fraternities/Sororities. The meeting went by quickly, but we still had a good time. As 1:10 rolled around, we took our picture outside of Carrier and departed our separate ways.

Our First Meeting- Dinner at D-Hall

At around 5:15 on Tuesday September 8, 2009 our group (red group) met outside of D-hall for dinner. We proceeded through the doors, found a table, went to get our food, and sat down. Conversation was a little bit sluggish at first because I don't think we really knew what to think of each other yet. As dinner went on conversation picked up. We discussed where we were all from, and how difficult it is to try and find the time to go home for a weekend. We slowly began to realize that we all had a lot of things in common. We all like hanging out with friends, watching movies, having fun, and much more. Oh! and also how much we all love JMU!!! We talked about our classes and what we like and dislike about them. Overall our meeting went smoother than I think all of us had expected. We all seem to get along, have good chemistry, and have a good time together. Hopefully the success of this meeting will transfer over into the future meetings so that we can be efficient and reach the high goals that we have set within our group.
